1. ACCOUNTING & HR OPERATIONS
We are looking for an Accounting/HR Operations personnel to join our team.
In this role, you will be a team member involved in the planning and development of accounting and reporting processes for compliance with applicable accounting standards. You would also work closely with all members of the management team to implement policies that reinforce the core values and culture of the human resources of for Brickstone and The African Catalyst.
The ideal candidate needs to have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. You should also be experienced with using accounting software, such as Zoho, Quickbooks and Xero. Certified with ACA, ACCA or CPA is an essential requirement of the job.
Please Note: This is a fulltime hybrid role ( 3 days in-person and 2 days-online) and the work location is located within Lagos Mainland around Ikeja, Off Allen, Lagos
2. MAIN ASPECTS OF THE JOB
A. Accounting
Your activities include:
- Function as an effective member of the management team, setting overall direction for the company and representing the administrative and accounting functions in all planning efforts.
- Prepare all budget and financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) as needed by owners, management team members, and other functional managers.
- Track and analyze monthly operating results against established budget.
- Direct, coordinate, staff, and oversee all aspects of the company administrative and bookkeeping functions.
- Oversee financial activities and provide backup support to Accounts Receivable, Invoicing Accounts Payable and Payroll functions as needed.
- Administer all employee benefit programs, maintain and update employee files, and interface with payroll process as needed.
- Ensure that all client account invoices for accounts receivables are sent and responded to in a timely and professional manner.
- Support continuous improvement in all company processes and procedures.
B. HR Operations
You would work in a team where your role will include:
- Support all company functions in recruiting and hiring new employees including: Screening resume’s and applications, sending questionnaires, conducting phone or in-person interviews, conduct pre-employment testing and background checks, and executing new hire orientation.
- Coordinate and assist with all terminations, layoffs, and leaves of absence.
- Establish relevant policies and procedures for, and assist managers in timely execution of, performance assessment, employee development plans and training programs.
- Develop consistent and fair personnel policies that comply with all federal and state regulations and that reflect the organization’s core values and culture. Maintain and update the Employee Handbook.
- Other HR Operations duties and required
C. Programme Management
You would work in The African Catalyst (TAC) Events and Programmes team where your role will include:
- Assist in Management and Planning for Brickstone and The African Catalyst (TAC) Events and Programmes
- Assist in Procurement and Payment of Vendors
- Balancing the competing demands for quality, scope, time and cost in the Tasks assigned to for Brickstone and The African Catalyst (TAC) Events
3. NATURE OF WORK
This is a fulltime hybrid role ( 3 days in-person and 2 days-online) and the work location is located within Lagos Mainland around Ikeja, Off Allen, Lagos
4. QUALIFICATION
Qualification & Technical Skills
- 1- 3 years of experience working in Payroll, Accounting, or any similar position and Certified with ACA, ACCA or CPA is an essential requirement of the job
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or any related field
- Working knowledge of standards and practices of HR Operations and experience in using HRIS,
- Expertise using payroll software, such as Quickbooks, Xero, and Sage
- Outstanding analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Other Requirements
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly, Working with minimal supervision, Strong team skills
- Well-presented with good interpersonal skills
Payroll Consideration
- Payroll is begged at a minimum of NGN 240,000 per month (net) but this can be increased based on the experience/performance of candidate during assesment.
