Petroleum Tanks Farm Development: Project Description

The depot has Six (6) petroleum tanks with 20 million litres capacity each for storage of AGO, PMS and DPK. All tanks are suitable and safely bonded enclosure, sequestered in a bonded enclosure within the tank farm premises. Within the there are facilities for storage of fire fighting water and for reception and storage of slops.

In line with the policy of the Federal Government of Nigeria on deregulation of the downstream oil industry which makes it possible for oil marketers to import and to warehouse Petroleum Products, this Pre-feasibility conducted by Brickstone involved finding out the commercial requirement for the setting up of a petroleum bulk storage tank farm and it’s financial viability or otherwise.

The operations of the depot involve stocking the tanks with petroleum products and sale of same. Within the limits of availability, the tanks would be leased to other oil marketers at prevalent market price.

The depot was conceived to take advantage of the dredging of the Niger-Benue Channel.
